Social comments are inquiries
A 15-minute daily routine that turns "how much?" under your posts into conversations, with or without a tool

Someone writes "how much for 20 units?" under your post on a Tuesday. You notice it on Saturday, scrolling for something else. By then they asked two other companies the same question.
Nobody ignored them on purpose. Comments simply don't land where inquiries land. Email has an inbox, a website form has a notification, a phone call has a voicemail. A comment has a red dot in an app you open when you have a minute.
Here is a routine that fixes that. It takes about 15 minutes a day and works with the tools you already have.
Treat comments like email
The first change is in your head: a question under a post is an inquiry, the same as a form submission. It deserves the same speed and the same follow-up.
In practice, that means three rules:
- Someone checks comments and direct messages at a fixed time every day, not "when there's a moment".
- Every question gets an answer the same day, in the same thread where it was asked.
- Anyone who asks about price, timing or availability is written down as a contact, with the comment attached.
The third rule is the one most people skip. A reply in a comment thread is easy to lose; a contact with a note ("asked for a price on 20 units, Nov 5") is something you can follow up on next week.
The 15-minute routine
- Minutes 1–5: open each network you post on and read new comments, mentions and direct messages.
- Minutes 5–10: answer every question publicly, short and specific. If the answer needs details (a quote, a delivery date), say you'll send them by message or email, and do it.
- Minutes 10–15: add the serious askers to your contact list with the question in the notes and a follow-up date.
Pick one time and protect it. Right after lunch works for many small teams: the morning posts have had time to collect replies.
What to write back
Short, human and with one next step. Three answers you can adapt:
"Thanks for asking! For 20 units it's usually $X, depending on [option]. I'll send you the details by message so you have them in writing."
"Good question — it depends on [thing]. Can you tell me [one detail]? Then I can give you a real number."
"We can start the week of [date]. Want me to hold a slot for you?"
Avoid "DM us" with nothing else. It reads like a brush-off, and the next person with the same question can't see an answer.
Plan the posts so the replies have somewhere to go
Comments come from posts, and posts are easier to keep up when they're planned. Pick two or three fixed posting times a week, write the posts in one sitting, and schedule them. The routine above then has a steady, predictable flow to handle instead of bursts after the occasional post.
How we handle it in Cold Leads
We built this into Cold Leads because it's the same problem as a website form nobody watches.
You plan posts on dates, like an email campaign: a month calendar, weekly posting slots, one text for every network or a shorter one for a single network, images you upload or generate with AI. Cold Leads publishes them to Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram channels, your LinkedIn profile and X (with your own X developer keys). Facebook Pages, Instagram and Threads come once Meta approves our app.

Comments, mentions and direct messages from Bluesky, Mastodon and Telegram come back about every five minutes into the Social tab of the same inbox as your email replies. You answer on the same network without switching apps, and one click on "Save as lead" makes the author a contact, with their profile linked and the message in the notes.
Every plan includes it, with limits that grow with the plan: from 1 connected account and 5 posts a month in the trial to 30 accounts and 1,000 posts a month on Business.
