Free email checker
Check an email address before you send to it. See in a few seconds whether it's valid, risky or invalid, and why.
What the checker looks at
- Format: is it a real email address, or a typo like a missing dot or @?
- Mail servers (MX): does the domain receive email at all?
- Disposable domains: is it a throwaway inbox from a temporary email service?
- Role addresses: is it a shared inbox like info@, sales@ or support@?
- Mailbox: tested only when an SMTP connection to the mail server is possible; otherwise the result says it wasn't checked.
Checking a whole list?
In Cold Leads you paste addresses or upload a CSV, and every address gets the same checks. Results land in Valid, Risky and Invalid; import the good ones as contacts and send personal email from your own Gmail, Microsoft 365 or SMTP mailbox, with replies back in one inbox.
New accounts only · card required · the plan starts after the trial unless you cancel.
FAQ
Is the email checker really free?
Yes. You can check up to 10 addresses an hour without an account. To check whole lists, paste them or upload a CSV inside Cold Leads; plans start at $19 a month and new accounts can try it free for 5 days (card required).
What exactly does it check?
The address format, whether the domain is a known disposable (throwaway) provider, whether it's a role address like info@ or sales@, and whether the domain has mail servers (MX records). The mailbox itself is tested only when an SMTP connection to the mail server is possible; the result tells you when it wasn't checked.
What do Valid, Risky and Invalid mean?
Valid: the address and domain look deliverable. Risky: it may work, but something lowers the chance it reaches a person, such as a disposable domain or a catch-all server. Invalid: the address can't receive email, for example because the format is wrong or the domain has no mail server.
Do you store or use the address I check?
We don't add it to any list, contact it or sell it. The check result is kept for up to 30 days so repeat checks are fast, then deleted. To stop anyone using Cold Leads from emailing an address, add it to the do-not-contact list at coldleads.app/remove-my-email.
Why verify before cold outreach?
Every bounce tells mailbox providers your list is low quality. A few bounces won't hurt, but sending to many bad addresses can push your next emails into spam. Checking first keeps your own mailbox's reputation clean.
